You have probably heard or read many things about Solar Energy Power but it is time that you were privy to some Solar Energy Facts.  Solar Energy is the most available energy resource known to man right now.  There is no fossil fuel on this planet that provides us with the limitless energy opportunities that Solar Energy does.  This energy derives from the Sun.  The Sun is the center of our universe that has been providing energy to our planet since the beginning of time.  The Earth’s inhabitants eventually learned to use the Sun as a way to provide them with warmth and to even dry their wet clothing.

One of the very important Solar Energy Facts you should know is that Solar Energy is renewable and clean.  Solar Energy is produced by various procedures designed to harness the sunlight that derives virtually endlessly from the sun.  It is believed that the Sun might exist for another 4 billion years.  That means this is an energy resource that is not going to deplete anytime soon.  Did you know that if we could truly harness all the energy expended by the Sun in one day we could provide power for all of Earth’s inhabitants for a year?

Another of the Solar Energy Facts that rings true is that it will not reap havoc on our already abused environment.  Our climate has already been affected by the fossil fuels we have been poisoning the environment with for generations.  Solar Energy didn’t really become an active power option until around 60 years ago.  The very first systems were unable to produce any effective results and the price to implement the process was incredibly expensive.  Now, some 6 decades later this alternative to the vastly utilized fossil fuels is finally starting to make an impact.

Today great solar platforms are being constructed and nanotechnology is providing innovative possibilities like solar quantum dots produced in paints that would allow you to make your solar energy home by simply painting your house.  This is one of those solar energy information that is obviously in the working stages and is still a ways off in the horizon.  Today most of our solar energy is created by utilizing solar cells, which are also known as photovoltaic cells.  These systems are placed under direct sunlight.

When the sunlight reaches the cells a chemical reaction occurs and direct current is established.  The direct current is then changed to alternating current so it can be used properly in the electric power system.  Although much progress has been made, unfortunately we are still only capturing about 15% of the energy that is available.

The true Solar Energy Facts are that these systems are still expensive and we still have a long way to go to get where we need to be with the Solar Energy Program.  The important thing is that major countries like the United States, Germany and Japan have realized the potential of Solar Energy.  One day the full reward of a better designed process will be enjoyed but at least we are on the right track.
