Each age has its own methods of accomplishing its objectives. Whereas in the past we were dependent upon fossil fuels, in this new enlightened era we are moving towards a cleaner and greener planet in which we are less dependent on polluting sources of power and increasingly more dependent upon the sun.

Protected by the atmosphere and the planet’s electromagnetic shields people often don’t realize the truth, that the sun is not merely a point of light in the sky, but a star, a vast fusion reactor that is putting out vast amounts of energy – energy that is little harnessed, and on the whole, wasted.

Best of all, the sun does not send you a monthly energy bill. If you would like to avail of this consideration on the part of our friendly neighborhood star, you might consider shifting to solar heating systems, systems that will heat your home, heat your pool and even power your home.

These days these systems have become increasingly sophisticated, incorporating everything, from a solar energy based solar heating system to vastly sophisticated methods of harnessing solar heat in the service of your home.

One of the simplest methods of utilizing solar heat is using solar heating systems that use a system of pipes heated by the energy of the sun to heat the water contained within them. This water is then channeled into tanks. And depending upon the level of your solar heating system you can heat the water for your home, or even the water for your pool. Or, using a slightly different system, solar power can even contribute considerably to the heating of your home.

You make the choices, either active or passive solar heating systems that can make your home completely dependent upon the sun and upon the sun alone for all its heating needs.

If you are intending to buy a house, for example, or any property, you would do well to consider the placement of the property relative to the sun. An intelligent architect, for example, places the property such that the maximum amount of windows and rooms face the sun.

If this is so, you have little to worry about and can easily install passive heating systems that can massively reduce your dependence on the electricity grid. The advantage of passive solar heating systems, of course, is that they take the minimum resources possible to install while still yielding massive returns in terms of saved energy cost.

One of the simplest methods of passive heating is simply to have large windows and excellent insulation. The large windows and good insulation ensure that while your house of warmed by the sunlight entering through the windows; the resulting heat does not leave through the windows and the walls of your home just as easily.

This is why I’ve mentioned paying close attention on whether the windows of the structure face the sun before buying a house. Even if you own a house that isn’t too open to sunlight, you can still save on energy by using those rooms that do face the sun more.
